Pesach preparations in the JEC juniors program incorporated experiential learning at its best! The children explored each stage of the Pesach Seder through hands-on activities that brought the chag and its traditions to life! From squeezing grapes for wine for kadesh, to growing parsley for karpas, from baking matzah for motzi matzah to singing and dancing with musical instruments for Hallel, the weeks before Pesach were packed with outstanding learning. Of course, a highlight of the Pesach preparations was re-enacting the story of Yetziat Mitzrayim, dressed in traditional costumes, swinging work tools, acting out the makkot and finally splitting the sea. Pesach at the JEC was an incredibly meaningful learning experience, in the finest tradition of the sippur Yetziat Mitzrayim.
