(Courtesy of Ohr Torah Stone) In observance of Yom Ha’Agunah, this year held on the Fast of Esther, February 28, the Knesset called a special session to discuss the issue of prenuptial agreements. Yad La’isha: The Monica Dennis Goldberg Legal Aid Center and Hotline, an Ohr Torah Stone program, placed a cage in Tel Aviv’s Kikar Habima, to dramatize the plight of these “caged” women who are metaphorically imprisoned and unable to move on with their lives. Members of Knesset and passersby were invited to enter the cage and sit with and hear firsthand the stories of current and former Yad La’isha clients.
