The TABC freshmen took part in their grade-wide chesed day last week and learned how giving back to the community is a core value of TABC. They broke into three groups, each one engaging in a unique form of chesed. One group went to Daughters of Miriam where they davened with the elderly residents and brought a band of students to sing and dance with them. A second group helped pack food for those in need at the Community Food Bank. The final group went to the Hebrew Free Burial Society where they had the unique zchut of participating in the levaya of someone without relatives to attend the burial. In an act of chesed shel emet, the talmidim took part in every aspect of the levaya, a moving experience that will undoubtedly make them more sensitive people.
