The first grade is huffing and puffing in science class this week! In preparation for their trip to see “The Three Little Pigs,” first graders put on their architect hats and built structures to withstand strong winds. The students read many different versions of the story to get inspiration for their creations. The students created blueprints, and then built their models out of materials like straws, toothpicks, gummy candy and marshmallows. When they were all complete, each structure had to withstand the force of the Big Bad Hairdryer! Luckily, all the little piggies were safe thanks to the ingenuity of the little builders!
