Bruriah junior, Rivka Moskowitz, won the Individual Torah Bowl competition at the OU’s Torah in the City at Citi Field. Bruriah’s entire Torah Bowl team was present. Bruriah’s Torah Bowl coach, Tzippy Carl, nominated Moskowitz, a member of the school’s Torah Bowl team. At the competition, Moskowitz competed against girls from high schools including SKA, Frisch, Ma’ayanot, Shalhevet, Kushner and Ramaz. She, along with the other top three, advanced to the next round in which students had to answer Jeopardy-like questions from different categories that ranged from English translation to roshei teivot and from “Where would you find the laws of ____?” to questions about fast days. Moskowitz received a check from ArtScroll for $1000 for seforim and a plaque for Bruriah. Moskowitz presented the plaque to Bruriah’s administration after davening.
