Moriah art teacher Morah Gila created a very special activity for the lower school students in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut. Each grade took a “tour” of a specific region of Israel where they learned about which of the minim grow there. Then, they used unique art supplies like pom-poms and foil to create the minim they learned about. First grade made grapes, second grade made figs, third grade made olives and dates, fourth grade made wheat and barley and fifth grade made pomegranates. When all the minim are complete, Morah Gila plans to create a beautiful display in the lobby in celebration of Shavuot!
