Yeshiva University Women’s Tennis Concludes Historic Season

(Courtesy of yumacs.com) The Yeshiva University women’s tennis team’s historic season came to a close on Thursday morning, as Yeshiva dropped its NCAA tournament first round matchup to nationally-ranked No. 18 Skidmore College, 5-0, on the Proctor Tennis Courts.

It was a special season for the Maccabees (10-4), as the women’s tennis team won its first Skyline Conference championship since 1999 and was the first women’s program to compete in the NCAA tournament in school history.

“This team will always be the first women’s program to go to the NCAA’s,” Yeshiva University Director of Athletics Joe Bednarsh said. “They are now the giants upon whose shoulders hundreds of young Jewish women will stand each time we take the national stage at what will be many NCAA tournament appearances. I am filled with pride to have been along for the ride with such an incredible group of women.”
