Israel And Palestine Form Economic Committee

Bethelehem (Ma’an News Agency) – Israel and Palestine agreed on Tuesday to form a committee of economic experts to meet on a bi-weekly basis to discuss economic issue between them, an official said. The decision was made in a meeting between Palestinian minister of finance ShukriBishara and his Israeli counterpart YairLapid and attended by several economic experts and officials.

The director general of Palestinian customs, excise, and VAT Ahmad al-Hilo, who was present, told Ma’an that the meeting included several economic issues including the crossings, fuel, discounts, referrals and tax.

The Palestinian Authority resumed economic ties with Israel in June when Bishara and Lapid met for the first time since the successful Palestinian bid to join the United Nations in November.
