OneFamily Young Women Victims Will Speak About Terror Experiences to Teaneck

OneFamily will be bringing a group of young women in their late teens, all of whom have been deeply affected by terror, to the tri-state area. They will meet people in various communities including Teaneck on June 27th at 8 PM, and speak about their experiences, and share the path they have taken towards recovery with the help of OneFamily.

The young women come from different backgrounds, however what they have in common binds them deeply—of injury or loss of a parent in such a cruel and traumatic way. Each one has had to cope with loss of their own self-image as a daughter with two parents, and the loss of their whole family as they knew it.

One of the participants, Orit, marked the second yahrzeit of her father Rabbi Mikki Mark hy’d, just a few days ago. The day her father was murdered, Orit had just finished 11th grade. “Total confusion sets in,” she said about the moment she heard the news. “You feel that who you are is changed forever.” Tehiya was only one years old when her father was murdered in their home. In that attack, an older brother was wounded trying to bring Tehiya to another room in the house so she would be safe. Eden, who sustained severe burns in a bus bombing in 2016, and Liraz, whose father was killed in a drive-by shooting, will also take part.

OneFamily is committed to helping all terror victims in whatever way they require. They provide financial help to let victims get back on their feet, help terror survivors psychologically and emotionally though support groups, workshops, and three-day therapeutic retreats. Their programs are based on the “power of together,” the idea that people heal fastest when they spend time with others who have suffered in the same way.

On Wednesday, June 27th at 8 PM please join a parlor meeting at the home of Irit and Chanani Sandler at 245 Schley Place in Teaneck.
