On Thursday evening, June 21, the Rockies of the Elmora Youth League’s Minors division completed their perfect season with a 16-6 blowout win over the Mets in the championship game. It was a fitting end to a dominant season—the Rockies easily won each game this season by an average of seven runs. Comprised of 13 Orthodox 8-11 year olds who attend JEC and Kushner, the Rockies are the only Jewish team in their division. Their season-long mantra was to play hard, have fun and behave like menschen—and the boys did it all like the champions they are.
