Kaplen JCC on the Palisades Plans 18th Annual ‘Play Fore!’ Event

(Courtesy of JCC on the Palisades) The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades will hold its 18th annual “Play Fore! the Kids Golf, Tennis and Games” event at Montammy Golf Club in Alpine, New Jersey, on Monday, August 6. Each year, this full day of fun raises vital funds for children with special needs, allowing the JCC to offer a wide range of meaningful programs that help them reach their highest potential.

The day will begin with many options, including men’s and women’s tennis, a new women’s 9-hole game and a full 18-hole package. For those who are not golf or tennis enthusiasts, the day will also feature Mah Jongg, bridge or canasta. Everyone in attendance will also enjoy a delicious brunch. The festivities will continue into the evening with a cocktail dinner reception, along with prizes, awards and exciting online, live and fisherman auctions that feature items such as never-to-be-seen sporting event packages and one-of-a-kind dream destinations.

“One of the JCC’s core missions is to ensure that all children with special needs have access to important life experiences that not only bring them new skills, but make them feel included as valuable members of our community,” explains JCC CEO Jordan Shenker. “Our annual golf and games event is one way we succeed in this effort, and we continue to expand our services each year to draw new participants and increase our impact.”

The JCC is now taking reservations for foursomes, games and/or the evening festivities at jccotp.org/playforethekids. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities is available. Attending or sponsoring the event ensures that children and teens with special challenges get to participate in JCC summer camps and programs where they can learn valuable life skills for more independent living. These programs are specifically geared for children with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, neurological and cognitive impairments, communication and language differences and physical challenges.

The day’s schedule is available at jccotp.org/playforethekids. Dietary laws observed.

Presenting sponsors include The Hechler Family and The Kurtz and Spadaccini Family. Event Chairs include Daniel Cohn, Cory Hechler and Tracy Reichel; auctions co-chairs are Michel Fox Blum and Jamie Molluzzo; and the games and tennis co-chairs are Stephanie Cohn, Jenna Gutmann and Jillian Somberg. The dedicated committee includes Brandis Bukzin, Becky Canarick, Nanette Greenberg, Amy Handman, Jonathan Marks, Sarah Nanus, Erica Polavieja, Jacqueline Pollack, Heather Rabinowitz, Beth Rubach, Eva Rubach, JoJo Rubach, Lindsay Skulnik, Joanna Wald, Hope Waxman and Jill Zimmerman.
