The Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies will hold orientation/registration for the school year at The Moriah School in Englewood on Sunday, September 16, at 9:30 a.m. The school, a regional Hebrew high school, serves students in grades eight to 12.
Students select their classes from a wide range of courses including ethics, current events, art and drama, Bible, Jewish philosophy, Israel, Torah and many more options. A break allows each student the opportunity to munch on snacks and socialize with the many students who hail from throughout Bergen and Passaic Counties.
A newsletter carries news to the community as well as to the student body and there are a host of social activities including trips to New York City, rock climbing, escape rooms and more. Highlighting each year are shabbatonim or weekend retreats and several community involvement programs.
