“Healthy Snacks, Healthy You” with Karen M. Ensle, EdD, RDN, FAND, CFCS, Rutgers Cooperative Extension professor, will be the featured program for seniors on Tuesday, October 9, 11:30 a.m., at The Senior Resource Center at The Lavy House, 748 E. Broad Street, Westfield, New Jersey.
According to Karen Ensle, “Snacking has gotten a bad reputation, but healthy snacks, on the other hand, help to quiet your stomach, hours before your next meal.” This program will help you learn about which snacks will satisfy those in-between hunger pangs without adding too many extra calories to your daily intake.

The Memory Café at the Lavy House will take place Tuesday, October 23, 12:00-2:00 p.m. The Memory Café program provides a casual time to enjoy lunch, social activities,and entertainment for individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia and their care partners. It is open, free of charge, to Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers in the community and their loved ones. A light lunch will be served. Kosher dietary laws observed.
