Naaleh Enjoys Guest Speakers From Israel

One of the cherished opportunities at Naaleh is the privilege to hear from world-renowned Torah scholars and speakers. This month, Naaleh students welcomed Rabbi Menachem Nissel, author of “Rigshei Lev: Women and Tefillah,” and Rabbi David Katz, director of Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim. With his trademark warmth and humor, Rabbi Nissel stressed the centrality and accessibility of tefillah, regaling the students with parables and memorable anecdotes. Rabbi Nissel met with a small group of students for a Q & A session following his interactive shiur, addressing fundamental questions on emunah and the role of Jewish women. Rabbi Katz delivered a fascinating parsha class on the dual nature of Eliezer, Avraham’s enigmatic servant. While some commentators view Eliezer’s greatness as an extension of Avraham’s achievements, others advance Eliezer’s independent reputation. Rabbi Katz inspired each student to be not only consumers of greatness, but to actively construct their own credibility and integrity.
