Walking into the RYNJ lunchroom on Monday evening felt like a wonderland of numbers! First grade students, along with their parents and grandparents, enjoyed a marvelous night of interactive math games at our annual first grade family math night! The event was filled with three rotating stations of entertaining games that were run by the wonderful first grade general studies team. It was a great opportunity for first graders to work on their critical thinking skills and reasoning ability, all while playing games and spending quality time with family and friends.
The night ended off with a bang, when the winner of the Jelly Bean Jar Estimation Challenge was announced. Mazal tov to Coby Neiss from 1B2, and Tova Nussbaum from 1G2, who each took home a jar of over 500 jelly beans, for having the closest estimations! Enjoy those jellybeans! In fact, each player got to take home a prize: their very own deck of cards so they can play the games at home again and again. RYNJ family math night was a great success!
