Englewood Mayor-Elect Michael Wildes Calls for Residents to Fill Municipal Board Seats

Englewood Mayor-elect Michael Wildes wishes to express his gratitude to the Englewood community for the confidence they placed in him by electing him as mayor. In an attempt to best prepare to take on any and all challenges inherent in this role, he has called for applicants to serve on all boards over which he has power of appointment or power of nomination prior to council confirmation. He is also seeking to create several new board positions to ensure that the Englewood government is able to keep pace with the ever-changing needs of the community.

Municipal board seats that he is seeking to fill include planning, zoning, board of library trustees, environmental commission and housing authority. Wildes encourages all interested parties to submit resumes and schedule interviews for upcoming vacancies on these boards. There will be no automatic re-appointments for members whose terms expire at the end of this year, but those individuals may apply as well if they wish to continue their service.

New boards under consideration include community relations, cultural affairs and economic development.

Interviews will be held on the following days at Englewood City Hall:

Friday, November 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Thursday, December 6, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Friday, December 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Friday, December 14, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Thursday, December 20, 2 p.m.-5 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, please send resumes as well as dates and times available to Catherine Melendez at [email protected]. For individuals unable to meet during these hours, please inquire about separate arrangements.
