This past Sunday, Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies students participated in a school-wide scavenger hunt in Crown Heights, called The Crown Heights Quest. Students were grouped into seven teams and had to find famous Crown Heights sights including Chabad headquarters, The Jewish Children’s Museum, a Mitzvah Tank and Hatzolah ambulance. Other finds along the way included kosher pizza shops, sushi restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets. Students also had to find a mikvah, go into a wig store to ask why women wore wigs and enter a dry cleaners to find out the meaning of shatnez. They enjoyed visiting and learning about a Jewish neighborhood many had never been to before.
