Ma’ayanot students volunteered last Thursday at the Bronx Jewish Community Council food pantry, which services 3,700 people each month. Students distributed food, toiletries and mason jars of soup ingredients prepared by their peers. Most of all, they brought smiles to the faces of Bronx residents. Niti Minkove, director of volunteers at the Bronx JCC, spoke to the students about the needs of the community and the variety of social services that the center provides. The students found the visit enlightening and inspiring and look forward to future chesed trips.
