(Courtesy of LifeTown) After years of planning, designing and building, LifeTown, The Jerry Gottesman Center, finally came to life as hundreds of children, teens and volunteers stepped through its doors on Sunday, Dec. 2, for Torah Circle.

The 53,000-square-foot center in Livingston is a fully accessible, recreational, educational and social center and will host programs for children, teens and young adults with special needs. It will also serve as the hub for all Friendship Circle programming.

“This was an amazing Chanukah gift that will continue to give for many years to come!” said Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum, CEO of LifeTown. “It is hard to describe in words what happened when the doors of LifeTown were opened for the first time. Kids ran out of their cars smiling and laughing, their parents chased after them with tears of joy… The energy and excitement was beyond anything that we could have imagined!

“Thank you to all those who made this dream possible through their hard work, dedication and generosity!” he added.

With the construction complete, LifeTown moves into a new phase as the stores and activity centers in Life Village are being outfitted for educational programming use.
