Continuing their study of ethics and justice, Idea School students delved into themes of courage, altruism and righteousness. In one creative project, students used programming and coding to craft their own superhero story and design a mechanical representation in a project titled “What does it mean to be a superhero?” Students also saw the film, “Spiderman—Into the Spiderverse” and compared fictional superheroes to real-life ones, examining how ordinary people do extraordinary things by finding the courage to do what is right. As part of their continued learning around the topic of halachic organ donation, the students welcomed a visit from a kidney donor and recipient who spoke about their journey through organ donation and the questions, fears and reward they experienced. The students asked many insightful questions and found that true heroism lies within every person.
