How amazing it is when parents use their vacation day to learn with their children! The annual JEC yom iyun, which took place last week, was a chance for parents to enjoy nachat while learning with their sons. The day began with davening, after which Rabbi Beer shared a message about tefillah with the parents and students. A hearty breakfast was enjoyed by all, culminating with exciting raffles for which students earned tickets based on their overall conduct during the first semester. Parents then joined their sons’ respective Gemara classes to get a taste of the passionate Torah learning that the boys experience every day. The program concluded with the most inspiring part: Pirkei Avot was divided between the grades as fathers and son learned b’chavruta. The sounds of Torah emanating from the beit midrash could be heard down the hall. Students then took turns sharing a part of their learning with the entire group, transmitting the values of Torah. The day was enjoyable, educational and inspirational for all.
