This year, Moriah has started a tefillah class for the eighth grade. The students have been studying the meaning, philosophy and halachot of tefillah through a myriad of sources compiled in a very impressive, revolutionary textbook. The students have enjoyed discussing prayer in an eye-opening way, lending them a different perspective on their daily minyan. The boys, learning with Rabbi Spence Weitzen, have currently shifted their attention to the historical origins of modern tefillah as we know it. The girls, learning with Morah Elisheva Dinter, are currently focused on an in-depth understanding of the meaning behind Shemoneh Esrei. They look forward to a second semester of this exciting program!
