On erev Shabbat December 28, 25 12th grade boys from the Matmidim advanced gemara shiur headed to Passaic to the home of their rebbe, Rabbi Jonathan Kessel for Shabbat. They davened at the Kessel home, led by Dovid Pearlman, and were also joined by Rav Yitz Rabovsky. After the seudah the boys went to a local beit midrash for a night seder. They returned to the Kessel house for a tish which finally ended at 11:45! The students led a local Shabbat morning minyan with Yonadav Rimberg and Ben Antosofsky davening for the amud. After a lavish kiddush, the Matmidim had an hour-long morning seder before another delicious suedah at the Kessel home. This time they were joined by TABC rebbe, Rabbi Dovid Einhorn and his family. After Mincha the boys had an hour break where some boys learned or played mini-hockey in the Kessel basement, while others took a well-earned nap. The boys walked to the Einhorns’ for an inspirational seudah shlishit and Havdala. The shabbaton continued with a melava malka held at TABC as the STORM finished off the beautiful weekend with a 8-0 victory against Rambam. A huge thanks to Rebbetzin Rachel Kessel and Rebbetzin Elana Einhorn for making this incredible Shabbat for the Matmidim.
