On January 9, 2019 Academies @ GBDS held its annual Israeli Dinner, that featured delicious authentic Israeli food cooked by the seventh grade students and parents. This informal family event is a part of the school’s annual fundraising and is a wonderful community building event bringing together many generations of GBDS students and their families. The school welcomed Kaskeset, Binghamton University’s Jewish A Cappella group. Hannah Greenwald, an Academies @ GBDS alumni is a member of the group and it was extra special and exciting to see a former graduate performing. Hannah started her performing career inside the walls of GBDS as a member of the school’s choir and annual show cast member. Other GBDS alumni joined the dinner to support a fellow graduate and to spend time with their beloved teachers. The event was generously sponsored by Jerusalem Restaurant of Livingston, Zaides Bake Shop of Fair Lawn, Food Showcase of Fair Lawn, Shoprite of Oakland, Stop and Shop of Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes and Net Cost of Staten Island.
