The Jewish Federation’s iCAN Teen Task Force is a leadership program that meets twice a month. The ICAN group brings both Jewish private and public high school students together, to discuss current events as well as learning how to be an advocate and leader in their own communities.
At the most recent meeting, a representative from AIPAC, American Israel Public Affairs Committee, spoke to students about the importance of using their personal narrative when advocating for the America-Israel relationship and/or with other concerns that they find meaningful. Students were divided into groups to discuss their stories about why this subject spoke deeply to them, while learning the tool of engagement in communication.
