The third and fourth graders at RYNJ had a great time at STEM Night. Using the design process, students were given tasks which aligned to their current science curriculum. They had to create from scratch various items using the materials given to them. The students spent time making slime, building a roller coaster, a catapult, a paper airplane, a sailboat, a water slide, a water tower and building the fourth little pig’s house. The activities were definitely challenging, but the students were determined to design and redesign in order to achieve perfection in their creations. Students were able to take home their creations, as well as a special prize. It was an evening to remember and so much was learned as well!
