Last week Moriah’s seventh graders participated in the third annual Moriah middle school Science Fair. Lead by Mrs. Kinsberg and Mrs. Knoll, the three month project focused on skills such as teamwork, time management and real world science application. Students were challenged to answer a question by using the scientific method. The questions that the student researched were diverse, ranging from, “How does the type of fidget toy being used affect the ability to memorize numbers?” to “What is the effect of a person’s height on the distance they can hit a golf ball?” It was a great opportunity to see the students’ creative sides. With projects involving electricity, food, pH, memory and more, the seventh graders were able to showcase and improve on their lab report writing skills. Top scorers will go on to compete in the Inter-Yeshiva Science Congress on May 19.
