This past Sunday Yavneh’s Chesed Team was excited to have their second event. Members of the chesed team proudly wore their Chesed Team T-shirts as they entered the Teaneck Nursing Center for a matzah-making activity. As students arrived, they each found a resident to get to know as they first decorated Bedikat Chametz bags together. They then made the dough and sang some Pesach songs while kneading the dough. Each student took some dough and helped the residents roll the dough with a rolling pin, then make some holes in it. The residents then each received a piece of matzah to eat. This event was a perfect way to prepare for Pesach as it reminded students that reaching out to others and making sure all who need “can come to eat” is an integral part of the Pesach experience as well.
