Last month, some second through eighth grade students from BPY competed in the semi-annual Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC). NLMC is a national mathematics contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students’ interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills and to inspire them to excel in math. More than 34,000 students representing 776 schools across the country took part in this spring’s contest. Several BPY students won the National Honor Roll title for achieving in the top 10% of participating mathletes, and many BPY students received National Honorable Mention for achieving in the top 50% of participating mathletes. Kol hakavod to all of the BPY participants and mazal tov to all the winners! The contest results demonstrate BPY students’ great problem-solving skills and math talents.
