Bruriah’s CIJE students placed at or near the top at the recent science and technology competitions. Juniors Leah Baron, Noa Strupinsky and Judith Wechter won the coding trivia event. Juniors Shira Friedman, Bracha Gluck and Nechama Stein were awarded first place team for the Lynn B. Harrison Award for Scientific Innovation with their invention called the Subway Solution which aims to alleviate congestion on trains. Juniors Leah Baron, Noa Strupinsky and Judith Wechter were awarded second place team for the Lynn B. Harrison Award for Scientific Innovation for their invention called Alert which helps students safely exit a building during an active shooter lockdown event. Sophomores Rena Feldman, Rayzel Fine and Elana Rosenblatt were CIJE Tank finalists for their invention called The Wheel Cheer which uses motors to gauge and facilitate power to a wheelchair. CIJE Tank will meet in late fall before a panel of entrepreneurs who will select one invention they feel is marketable and assist the team with the steps necessary in bringing the product to market.
