In continuing the quest to make learning engaging and relevant and so that RYNJ students grow in their appreciation of Torah, RYNJ MSB launched a week of Hands-on-Halacha. Each grade tackled a unique topic and participated in a hands-on component.
RYNJ 6B was strung up “With Strings Attached” as they learned hilchot tzitzit, followed by a tzitzit workshop where they got to make their own pair of tzitzit.
In 7B, students inspected hilchot kashrut as they went “Behind the Symbols” followed by a visit from the Kof-K.
The RYNJ graduates of 8B were tied up with hilchot eruv as they “Held the Line,” with an introduction by Rabbi Micah Shotkin, who oversees several local eruvim, followed by a local eruv tour.
Detailed teacher guides, presentations and student materials were developed for each unit in order to facilitate a meaningful and stimulating learning experience. It was hands-on learning at its best.
