Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp Celebrates 11th Anniversary

This past Friday, August 2, Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp celebrated its 11th year in existence— with a record number of over 450 campers, in addition to staff, counselors and special activity instructors. This event was marked with a photo op with Bris Avrohom and Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp staff and numerous public officials.

Proclamations were presented to the camp declaring August 2, Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp Day.

The Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp is run by Rabbi Mendel and Elke Zaltzman. It is under the auspices of Bris Avrohom of Fair Lawn, founded by Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky and under the leadership of Rabbi Cantor Berel Zaltzman and Rabbi Mendel and Elke Zaltzman. The center provides services to the Russian Jewish Community and the general community in Bergen County, who came to America for a better future, with all that is necessary to connect them to Judaism.

Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp is located on the sprawling campus of Yeshivat Noam in Paramus. The campers are enjoying the pleasantries of summer with swimming, trips and arts and crafts. To quell their inquisitive minds the camp provides professional instructors on various stimulating activities. The campers are taken on trips three times each week. Hot lunches are served daily along with nourishment for the soul forming their Jewish identities with teachings on basic knowledge of Judaism, history, stories and backgrounds on the Jewish holidays. The campers take home arts and crafts projects centered around these teachings. The increase in registration attests to the success of this day camp.
