Moriah middle school marked the 9/11 tragedy with a presentation by Matthew Herenstein, husband of Moriah teacher, Sharon Herenstein, and father of Moriah alumna, Jamie (‘11). Mr. Herenstein was in Tower 7 on that horrific day, 18 years ago. He shared his personal account of making his way out of the Wall Street area and his long trek uptown and over the bridge. While he shared his fear of the unknown in the moments of that day, he also shared the beautiful way the city came together as one community to help one another. There was silence in the room as students listened closely and took his words to heart.
