The fourth and fifth graders at TCA learned that they must make themselves into vessels to be able to receive Hashem’s brachot. They know that Hashem has so many blessings that He would love to shower us with but we need to be the vessel ready to receive it. This concept was demonstrated with cups and containers of various sizes. The children recognized that if they wanted a large amount of water and their “vessel” was small, the water would just spill over and they will be left with only the water that fits into that small size cup. The class then discussed how each one of us can make ourselves a proper כלי to merit all of Hashem’s wonderful blessings. The students came up with many examples of mitzvot and מעשים טובים such as:
תפילה בכוונה, אהבת ישראל, כיבוד אב ואם, אמת and more. Rosh Hashanah is such a powerful day. If we come prepared for the day and use that day in the best way possible we will be worthy of having a great year.
