Naaleh Students Visit Care One

After school on Tzom Gedalia, more than half of Naaleh’s student body loaded buses for an optional chesed trip to Care One at Teaneck. The students connected with the residents over projects, games and singing. The trip was organized by Miriam Finkelstein, Naaleh’s chesed coordinator, who has been arranging countless opportunities in Bergen County and beyond for Naaleh students to get involved in community outreach. The program promotes chesed in different domains—in school, at home and in the community. For the community aspect, the goal is to expose the students to many different volunteer options so that they can give back in a way that is meaningful and unique to their talents and strengths. Finkelstein adds, “We hope we can help the girls connect to a chesed organization or mode of giving back that will encourage them to go above and beyond, not only in high school but in the future as women in the community.”
