Rinat Will Host Rabbi Noach Goldstein on Thanksgiving Day

Come to Rinat on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, at 9:10 a.m. and hear from Rabbi Noach Goldstein on “From Beit HaMikdash to Barbecue: The Sacred Legacy of Shechita.”

With Thanksgiving’s focus on fleishigs, it is an opportune day to better understand the role of shechita. Although it is often considered merely a humane method of obtaining meat, shechita may actually be a surviving element from the Beit HaMikdash, with major consequences for how to view our turkey dinner.

Rabbi Noach Goldstein is the assistant rabbi at The Jewish Center and a fellow in the Wexner Kollel Elyon at RIETS. He grew up in Teaneck davening in Rinat, and now lives in Manhattan with his wife, Alexis, and their sons Yehoshua and Azi.
