Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

(Courtesy of Bergen Football League) The first season of Bergen Football League came to a close this past Sunday. What an amazing start it was for BFL, as there were 12 total teams and two divisions, first and second grade, and third and fourth. The games, which took place in Teaneck at Benjamin Franklin School, ran from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Sunday mornings. BFL, which is led by Rabbi Jonathan Kessel and Yitz Rabovsky, has coaches playing QB for the younger divisions, which gives each player an opportunity to get involved in the exciting action. The eight game season saw the players improve week by week as new skills were taught and used during the games.

On many of the Sundays, players were greeted by doughnuts, Cinnabon and even some hot chocolate, an added treat to the amazing football. BFL is excited about the upcoming Spring League, which they will open up to a fifth and sixth grade division, as well as a seventh and eighth division, where kids will play QB and there will be full playoffs and championships.
