On Wednesday, December 18, the MTA JV basketball Lions went into the TABC weather center, to play the Storm in what would be a thriller of a game. In the first quarter, MTA showed how easy it was to break TABC’s press. Both teams showed off their offensive powers and the game was tied 20-20 after a quarter of play. Throughout the second quarter, Dani Wolk (‘22) showed off his monstrous capabilities by being a force on the boards and in the paint. Led by game leading scorer sophomore Donny Book (17 points), the Lions came into the second half ready for anything that would come their way. Book kept pulling down rebounds on both ends of the court, and sophomores Wolk and Shua Alexander kept putting in the second chance points. Towards the end of the game, the score was tied at 44. After a missed 3 by MTA, Book grabbed the offensive rebound, put it up, scored, got the foul and then sank the free throw to get up by three. TABC ended up inbounding the ball, but an unfortunate missed 3 ended the game. The Lions won 47-44 in a nail-biting game.
