Kushner Cobras Hockey Victorious on Senior Night

The Cobras returned from yeshiva week and continued where they left off by defeating the Hillel Heat by a final score of 9-0. The game featured an all senior starting lineup in honor of Senior Night. The celebration of the seniors began with goalie Nathan Orbach taking the night off to play forward and immediately put the Cobras up 1-0 by finishing a play set up by his brother Max. Within a blink of an eye it was 3-0 with only three minutes played in the first period. The scoring rush was highlighted by first year defenseman Avi Weiskopf burying his first career goal. The Cobras saw strong play from defenseman Jason Singer as he also contributed two goals and held off the Hillel offense all night. Singer has been buzzing in an increased role and provides an excellent scoring punch from the blue line. With only one more game left to play vs. the MTA Lions, the Cobras have their eyes set on the third seed and to become a home playoff team for the first time in school history at the varsity level.
