On Tuesday night, February 4, the MTA Lions JV basketball team played their regular season finale against the JEC Thunder. Sophomore Aron Skoczylas got the first start of his career, and immediately made a positive impact on the game. Skoczylas knocked down two mid-range jumpers to open up the game and played exceptional defense throughout. Sophomores Donny Book and Shua Alexander kept putting in points and made great plays for their teammates, but JEC still bounced back. MTA was up two points at halftime and the game stayed close until the fourth quarter. Some late game mishaps on MTA’s part gave JEC a chance to come back, but they could not, and MTA won with a final score of 44-33. MTA looks forward to the playoffs.
