For the past four years, the RKYHS Jewish Life Committee has been working on providing as many opportunities as possible for students at RKYHS to have additional enjoyable and meaningful spiritual experiences at school. They provide weekly Torah handouts on the parsha, set up a booth with festive music on Friday afternoons to joyfully send off students for Shabbat, run additional ruach and zemirot sessions at the annual shabbaton and much more. Thanks to the support of a few generous donors, a group of students from the Jewish Life Committee headed to Yeshiva University’s sefarim sale to buy sefarim to enrich the collection of sefarim in The Morris Stadtmauer Torah Center. The Jewish Life Committee surveyed students and faculty to get ideas, and carefully chose seforim that would be the most meaningful for the student population to have in the beit midrash. Prior to the seforim sale, the students had the opportunity to have a shiur with YU student and JKHA/RKYHS alum Zach Israeli (JKHA ‘13/RKYHS ‘17) over dinner.
