On Wednesday, February 19, TABC’s delegation of congressmen traveled to Lawrence High School for the Yeshiva League Model Congress meet, hosted by HAFTR High School. Students engaged in vigorous debate concerning the pressing needs of our nation. They composed bills and resolutions, presented to their peers and offered affirmative and negation speeches to sponsor and/or oppose fellow students’ bills. The students were challenged by and enjoyed participating in rigorous legislative debate. In addition, several of TABC’s congressmen were honored with distinction for their performances. Ephraim Helfgot ‘20 (Judiciary), Sam Weinberg ‘20 (Intelligence), Levi Langer ‘21 (Energy) and Harry Meister ‘21 (Foreign Affairs) were awarded first place Best Delegate honors in their respective committees. Daniel Rothstein ‘20 (Ways and Means) earned a second place Honorable Mention in his committee.
