Streits Introduces New Version Of Matzo Man for 2020

(Courtesy of Streits) New for 2020 and in conjunction with Streits Matzo’s Eli Kowalski, the brains behind it all, has developed Sam the Matzo Man “Dayenu” version of the latest innovation from Philadelphia manufacturer Toy Vey Toys. He sways and plays a chorus of “Dayenu,” a Passover classic, while wearing a matzo-print chef’s apron and chef’s hat with “I Love Matzah” written across it. Make Sam the Matzo Man part of your tradition and have kids bring him to the Seder table to play with and have fun. Just put in fresh batteries every year and you’re ready to go.

Also new is a 14-inch-tall dancing Matzo Man, which plays the original rhyming tune with synchronized dance moves—a sight to see and guaranteed to put a smile on everyone’s face.

A complete Passover matzah-print kitchen accessory product line that includes potholders, oven mitts, aprons and kitchen towels is also available from Streits. For the kids, there’s an “I Love Matzah” chef hat, children’s matzah-print aprons and a Kosher Streit’s Matzah Baking Kit (not recommended for Passover but is kosher).

Most of these Passover gift items are available at Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon and SamtheMatzoMan.com. Prices range from $6 to $29.99. Orders will usually be shipped within 24-48 hours.

These new products are all part of Kowalski’s goal of making the holidays appealing to children of all ages. “The reason I’m doing this is so kids have more fun with non-traditional ways and stereotypes,” said Kowalski, author of several award-winning children’s and sportsbooks and creator of “Sam the Matzo Man.” Sam the Matzo Man is a heimishe-looking man that people of all ages can relate to.

Kowalski, who was born Eliyahu Ha Navi before being Americanized, would now like to build on the successes of the popular plush spinning dreidel and Hanukkah in a Box. He wants to make Passover more inclusive and fun.

Kowalski adds, “So when people ask ‘Why was this Passover different from all others?’ they’ll say because Sam the Matzo Man was at our table. And we want to have him back every year.”
