1 Order of Scallion Pancakes from Chopstix
3 Onions peeled and sliced
2 Flanken Bones (add as much MEAT as you love!!)
1/2 Cup of Barley
5 large potatoes, peeled and cut in to thirds
2 tablespoons of hoisen sauce (from scallion pancake order)
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 tablespoon of paprika
2 eggs in shell (optional for a great shabbos day egg salad)
salt and pepper to taste
In a crock pot, layer the bottom with the onions, then barley, then meat, potatoes,eggs, onions again, and honey & hoisen sauce (may substitute with ketchup).
In a separate bowl, mix the seasoning together with cold water and pour over cholunt ingredient just an inch past the potatoes (you should see them begin to float).
Add the scallion pancake. Cover and set for shabbos.
Serves the most delicious cholunt!!!
