Thurnauer School of Music to Present Flute Master Class Featuring Michel Moragues

(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC) The Thurnauer School of Music will present the third annual Neus Family Flute Master Class featuring Michel Moragues, international soloist, clinician, professor and second flute soloist with the Orchestre National de France. The class will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Eric Brown Theater. Attendance is open to the public with free admission.

“We are very grateful to Karen and Michael Neus for making this series possible and are thrilled that Michel Moragues will be this year’s featured artist,” said Dorothy Kaplan Roffman, director of the Thurnauer Music School. “Master classes give students and audience members a valuable opportunity to gain insight into musical works and the artistic process through a public coaching in an intimate setting.”

The class will be presented as part of the Thurnauer School of Music’s annual Master Class series, representing the 84th class of its kind offered at the Thurnauer School since 1996. Previous renowned artists include violinist Itzhak Perlman, pianist Richard Goode, flutist Jasmine Choi and cellist Steven Isserlis.

Michel Moragues enjoys a varied career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and educator. In addition to being second flute soloist with the Orchestre National de France since 1989, Moragues is a professor of chamber music at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris and a professor of flute at the Conservatoire Regional de Paris.
