Many of their Bergen county faithful are left without closure and although we can never bring back the season, The Jewish Link would like to spotlight the record shattering 2019-2020 Yeshiva University men’s basketball team. The NCAA season was cut short as the No. 13 ranked YU team was scheduled to play at No. 3 Randolph-Macon College, in a third-round matchup. As the YU team was working on the longest NCAA winning streak, Coach Steinmetz won the Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year award and the team was honored with two D3 Hoops.com All Americans, the D3Hoops National Coach of the Year, two NABC All-Atlantic Team members, NABC All-Atlantic Coach of the Year and a CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team member.

2019-20: First season playing collegiate basketball for Yeshiva University… netted eight points and forced three steals at St. Joseph’s College Long Island (12/8)…tallied four points with three rebounds at Maritime College (1/22)…scored four points in Yeshiva’s NCAA tournament first-round victory over WPI (3/6).

2019-20: Earned a spot on the Skyline All-Conference Second Team (3/2)…scored his 1,500th career point, and also moved into fourth place on YU’s All-Time Scoring List, during the game at Eastern Connecticut State University (12/15)…named to the D3hoop.com All-Atlantic Third Team (3/17)…earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll (12/16)…was named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Divisions II-III Honorable Mention (12/17)…shot 50.4% from the field this season, including 43.6% from beyond the arc. The two-time Skyline All-Conference First Team member is second on YU’s All-Time scoring list with 1,845 career points.
