The Botanist Is Coming to Teaneck (With Flowers!)

Are you looking for something special to spice up the centerpieces at your next wedding or event? Or perhaps you’re looking for a nice bouquet to bring home to your spouse? If you answered “yes” to either of the above questions, The Botanist is the place to turn. The Botanist is a full-service floral business providing eye-catching flower arrangements. Their designs are painstakingly crafted with the best quality flowers, resulting in products that are sure to impress. They also offer simpler bouquets, perfect for Shabbat and gifts.

And the best part? They’re coming to Teaneck!

The Botanist was created roughly four years ago and is managed by Sam Friedman. Being a father of 11 children and having married most of them off, he knows what to expect from a florist. Originally operating out of Borough Park, the move to Teaneck marks an important shift in the business’s goal to reach more customers and grow the number of products they can offer. The new location will be on Queen Anne Road.

“It’s a really exciting time for the business,” Friedman shared in an interview with The Jewish Link. “When we first started, our goal was to make people happy with our flowers and designs, and over the years we’ve put in the work so that our products are the best they can be. As for what I’m most excited about with the new location, it would have to be the people, and the fact that we’ll be able to make more and more people happy!”

Friedman didn’t originally plan to pursue work in the botany industry. What really got him invested was the fact that the work enabled him to have an impact on people during their most special days and moments.

“I’ve seen firsthand the joy the flowers bring to people, and getting to enhance their day or event is something that’s really important to me,” Friedman said. “The reason I chose this industry over others was because I loved the fact that I was able to help people take their events to the next level. The fact that people want to use my flowers during their milestones and important events is something I will never take for granted.”

When it comes to what he feels separates his business from others in the floral industry, Friedman said, “What separates us is the fact that we really put in the effort to take that extra step, that extra mile. When we’re brought on for an event, we don’t just give you the product, we make sure it’s the best it can be, and that you come away feeling proud of it. I’ve made my fair share of simchas, and I know what people want in these moments. We want you to feel a part of the process, and know that you’re getting something worthy of the event you’re planning.”

Unfortunately, with the novel coronavirus and social distancing regulations still ongoing, the store’s original grand opening had to be postponed. Friedman is waiting on developments before setting a new date for the opening. May 1 is the expected date when they will start doing deliveries.

“With the coronavirus situation it’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to open as planned,” Friedman continued. “But when things finally settle down and go back to normal, the store will open like a bouquet for the community. It’ll be something nice after the storm we’re all going through. Until then, I’m with everyone else keeping their eyes on the news. When it is all over, I hope you’ll come by and check out what we have to offer.”
