TABC junior Ezriel Vinar placed fifth in the worldwide Chidon HaTanach competition last week after finishing in second place in the national competition last year. The international competition takes place annually on Yom Ha’atzmaut in Jerusalem. This year, international contestants Zoomed in to Ir Hakodesh to compete for the top prize. Rabbi Neil Winkler, TABC’s legendary chidon coach, who has coached three TABC students to top results in the competition, adds that while Israeli students participated at 11 a.m. their time after a hearty breakfast, Ezriel competed at four in the morning New Jersey time!
TABC thanks Rabbi Winkler for his incomparable record of coaching TABC champions via Skype meetings from his Jerusalem home and TABC rebbe Rabbi Chaim Jachter for coordinating student participation from the U.S.
Ezriel joins an esteemed group of TABC students who have placed highly in the renowned Bible contest, including Shlomi Helfgot who placed fourth in 2017, and Ezriel’s brother Netanel, who placed sixth in 2019.
