All students and staff in Tenafly Chabad Academy grades one through eight joined together for an assembly commemorating Yom Hazikaron. There were two short video presentations and they all stood for a siren honoring Israel’s fallen soldiers. The audience heard from featured speaker, Yair Klyman, a former lone soldier, who shared his experiences in theIsraeli Army.
The school then celebrated Israel Day with programming that took students “zooming” all around Israel. Each grade rotated through programs and hands-on fun with activities including floating eggs in salt water, making Israeli salad and home-made chummus, creating colored pinwheels in art, Israel dancing, Tzahal boot-camp and playing trivia games about Israel.
