Rabbi Stein has a long history of leadership in the Jewish community and currently serves as the principal of Farber Hebrew Day School, which he will continue in addition to his role at Refuat Hanefesh.

Refuat Hanefesh began three years ago with the ambitious mission of decreasing mental health stigma in the Jewish community by spreading knowledge via a blog. Since that time Refuat Hanefesh has grown to include Live Conversations, a yearly Creative Expression Contest, social media channels, and in person speeches and dialogue related to mental illness. Rabbi Stein intends to spread the message further through new social media interactions, community programs and educational initiatives. Rabbi Stein is looking forward to engaging with the Jewish community in the quest to create a community that is more aware, respectful, and empathetic to people living with mental illness.
